Diabetes Advisory Council (DAC)
The Diabetes Advisory Council (DAC) is a governor-appointed
group that advises the Governor and Florida's Surgeon General on emerging diabetes issues affecting care, treatment, and quality of life.
The guidance of and recommendations made by the DAC improve policy and legislation efforts and influence the strategic planning of the
Diabetes Prevention and Control Program.

The Alliance is a statewide, grassroots partnership promoting diabetes prevention, education, and care issues. Membership in the Alliance
is free and open to individuals and organizations with an interest in diabetes prevention and control in Florida.

Partners meet annually to update the state diabetes strategic plan, which includes action items to achieve two goals: increasing diagnosis
of pre-diabetes and increasing participation in diabetes self-management education.

Life Stage Work Groups
Partners in Florida's diabetes health system work on strategies that are specific to one of three life stages: children, adults, and seniors.
These work groups meet via conference call and in conjunction with quarterly DAC and Alliance meetings to update each other on action plans
